Give your grandkids something they'll have for the rest of their lives: manners. I am a firm believer in practicing good manners at all times - and I think that the younger generation has forgotten (or in some cases never taught) some of the finer points of etiquette.
Years ago I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Marjabelle Young Stewart, the Empress of Etiquette, producing videos and writing books on manners for children. "Manners are the happy way of doing things," she would repeat over and over again. And watching her glide through a crowd, greeting everyone from the Secretary of State to the bus boys, made everyone happy to be in her presence.
Marjabelle and I wrote a children's book together on manners, Princess Marjabelle Visits Lollygag Lake. There's no reason why you can't start children early on learning good manners, and here's a unique way to do it - through storytelling.
