A recent article on CosmeticsDesign.com suggests that a new ingredient is going to be hitting the skin care market: glucosamine. Typically reserved for those who are suffering from the painful symptoms of arthritis, the topical application of glucosamine could normalize pigment overproduction in skin cell, therefore preventing premature aging and reverse UV damaged skin.
The study done by the American Academy of Dermatology, also found that a combined version of glucosamine and niacinamide stimulated production of hyaluronic acid - a key process in rehydration of the skin, as well as increased collagen production.
We'll keep an eye out for products that start using the ingredient combinations and share our information.
